FEB 02, 2018 – I remember these weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day as a kid, puzzling over what card to send to which friend. The difference between all those little red construction paper hearts with their frilly doily lace may have seemed imperceivable to some but, to me, it felt vital for Suzanne’s to look just like Suzanne, and Tony’s to be only for Tony — careful selections to be made times 12 classmates and extended family.“I see you” is as big a deal for us at Cardthartic now as it was then. The way we look at it, your peeps are not generic, so no way will you let your cards for them be! Cardie Mary Morini recently forwarded to us a great NYT piece on maintaining friendships. “It’s about feeling like you are supported in the ways that you want to be supported,” it read, “and believing that the connections you do have are nourishing and strong.”
If ever there was a time to extend our love and understanding, it is now, so we sincerely hope that — either through our selection of LOVE cards, those you get elsewhere, or happily craft yourself — you’ll find just the right look and voice for each special someone in your life. And, while you’re at it, we hope you’ll be able to find the time to make a fun and loving exercise of stepping back and taking in what you cherish most about each valued relationship as you sign your own “Happy Valentine’s Day!” Enjoy.
